As I am taking up sewing again after a long hiatus, I am always on the lookout for tips to enhance my sewing skills. The photo is of one from one of the books: it's simple. Keep a swatch of every fabric you use, and sew it onto a swatch chain. That way, when shopping for notions or for more fabric, you can plan on coordinating clothes. 
Stoffreste zusammennaehen: beim Stoffeinkaufen dann einfach rausholen, und ueberpruefen, dass der neue Stoff auch wirklich zum Rest passt. Oben die komplette Kette, unten die von meiner Grundgarberobe.
