Picking a pattern for the red acrylic I got from my neighbor

So, with only 6 projects on my needles, and already the yarn here for I don't know how many pairs of socks, and other dreams... I really need to think about what to make out of the red acrylic yarn my downstairs neighbor gave me. I was thinking of knitty's Trellis (well, yes, I've decided already that it's going to be for the tot) -- but realized that it's 18 months maximum size. And ds is already two years old. And I don't reaalllly care for adapting the pattern to his favorite sweater... So I looked at the Drops homepage and found this and this. I will need to swatch, find the right needle size for the yarn and decide on which one to make. They are both beautiful.

They are both beautiful indeed. I look forward to seeing what you do with the yarn.
