not so wise yarn choice: heavy cotton in garter stitch will stretch like crazy, not hold its shape, and probably not hold up to schoolyard abuse as well as wool might have done. (but the Hanne Falkenberg Shetland wool doesn’t hold up to schoolyard abuse either).
