Finished. Patriotic socks for me. May is sooo cold, I still get to wear them, even before being off to Vancouver for hiking.
Patriotic Socks for me
Pattern: 60 stitches, k2p2 ribbing, continued on the top of the foot, heel flap on 30 stitches, 28 rows high, blunt toe (decreased EOR to 7 stitches per needle, then Kitchener)
Yarn: almost 2 balls of Regia Nationcolor, bought at Wollywood
Color: schwarz rot gold
size needles: 2.5 mm DPNs pearl-gray from Inox, I think
care: machine wash
knitting time: CO: 11May06 CO 29May06
knitting fun: good, mindless knitting. Really great while reading blogs
Modifications: well, I modified my standard old pattern to include the broader toe with decreases only down to 4 times 7 stitches. I like the fit better than the decreases down to four times 2 stitches.
new techniques learnt: I tried a bit with Norwegian purl, but found it awkward, and not really faster. Maybe I should persist trying?
