Rue Diagonale

Rue Diagonale
Originally uploaded by Strickanfall.

Finally finished: A bag for a friend, who lives also here in Paris. I particularly like the wild lining fabric (Ikea), that I found for its rather demure exterior.

Rue Diagonale
Yarn:
ggh Scarlett, pink and brown
Needles: 4mm
Pattern: Via Diagonale on Knitty by Wendy Wonnacott
Knitting time 16aug07-30sep07
Modifications: I cord cast-on. Handles out of two i-cords instead of out of one thick one. I think that's all.
Knitting fun: fun!

It's lovely. .. and I think it's great that you added a zipper. How did you do it? Just hand sew it into the cast on edge?

thanks for that last comment: the zipper is machine sewed into the lining, and the lining then handsewn into the bag. (bottom photo shows quite some detail)
